The server it ran on is being shut down. Rather than leave a half-working demo up, it is off until it has a proper new home.
Nothing else changed: RackMon itself is free, MIT-licensed and complete. The quickest way to see it is to run it — it takes about ten minutes and it ships with an SNMP simulator, so you get live data without wiring up any hardware first.
docker run -d -p 127.0.0.1:8000:8000 \ -e RACKMON_ENVIRONMENT=production \ -e RACKMON_JWT_SECRET=$(openssl rand -hex 32) \ -e RACKMON_MASTER_KEY=$(openssl rand -hex 32) \ -e RACKMON_ADMIN_EMAIL=you@example.com \ -e RACKMON_ADMIN_PASSWORD=$(openssl rand -base64 18) \ -e RACKMON_SEED_DEMO_DATA=true \ -e RACKMON_DATABASE_URL=sqlite:////data/rackmon.db \ -v rackmon_data:/data \ rackmon/rackmon:latest
Then open http://localhost:8000.
Write down that admin password — it is only shown here. The port is bound to
127.0.0.1 on purpose: put a TLS reverse proxy in front before anything
else can reach it.
